Clinical use of potassium supplements

Am J Hosp Pharm. 1975 Jul;32(7):708-11.

Abstract

The clinical use of potassium supplements is reviewed. Included is a discussion of the measurement of potassium status, oral and intravenous potassium therapy, intraperitoneal potassium administration, and hazards of potassium supplements. It is concluded that the potential hazards of potassium indicate a need for a more rational approach to potassium therapy.
