Abstract

PIP: A review of population trends in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, from 1780 to 1980 is presented. Consideration is also given to population trends in Thailand as a whole. The study includes a critique of various estimates of Bangkok's population that were made during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
