Standard terminology has been developed for continuous renal replacement therapies (CRRTs). However, the field has continued to evolve. A set of minimal criteria for reporting CRRT techniques was also developed and will be critical in evaluating studies using CRRT and comparisons between continuous and intermittent renal replacement therapies.
