Isolated avulsion of the popliteus tendon

Arthroscopy. 1990;6(2):94-5. doi: 10.1016/0749-8063(90)90005-x.

Abstract

Isolated rupture of the popliteus tendon has been described as a rare cause of acute hemarthrosis of the knee. This report describes two additional cases diagnosed arthroscopically and questions whether this lesion is as rare as has been suggested. There is also further evidence of a benign clinical course without repair of the tendon avulsion.
