Br J Rheumatol. 1994 Dec;33(12):1145-50. doi: 10.1093/rheumatology/33.12.1145.

Abstract

Penicillium marneffei, a dimorphic fungus that is endemic in Southeast Asia and the southern part of China, can cause infections in both healthy and immunocompromised hosts. Bone and joint infections caused by this fungus have rarely been described. The clinical features of eight patients with bone and joint infections caused by this fungus are reported. The English literature on P. marneffei osteoarticular infection is reviewed.
