Abstract

Blepharoplasty is a popular technique for eyelid rejuvenation. Safe and successful blepharoplasty surgery requires a complete understanding of eyelid anatomy, careful preoperative evaluation, and meticulous attention to intraoperative detail. This article discusses the role of blepharoplasty in periorbital rejuvenation, provides the reader with an overview of the anatomy, patient selection, preoperative evaluation, surgical technique, and complications of blepharoplasty surgery. An overview of the educational process through which surgeons can learn to perform blepharoplasty is also presented.
