Abstract
Spontaneous intramural rupture of the oesophagus is a rare cause of acute pain in the chest and upper abdomen. A case of spontaneous intramural oesophageal rupture in an 82-year-old woman is reported. Symptoms, diagnostic investigation, aetiology and therapy of the lesion were demonstrated.
