Florida mortician convicted in breach of AIDS database

Abstract

AIDS: A Pinellas County judge found [name removed], a Florida funeral director, guilty of the nation's largest breach of confidential HIV information. [Name removed] was identified as the individual who sent computer discs with the names of nearly 4,000 individuals living with HIV/AIDS to two newspapers and the Pinellas County Health Department. [Name removed] was seeking revenge on [name removed], an ex-lover who worked in the county AIDS surveillance office. [Name removed] mailed the discs in an effort to expose [name removed] for lax security practices.
