Oat bran treats diarrhea

Posit Aware. 1999 Mar-Apr;10(2):16.

Abstract

AIDS: A study of 51 people with HIV suggests oat bran tablets are effective in treating diarrhea. After 2 weeks of treatment, 84 percent of study participants reported that their diarrhea had lessened either moderately or dramatically. Participants took two or three Solgar brand unprocessed oat bran tablets. The best results occurred when the tablets were taken a half-hour before meals, or right before each protease inhibitor dose.
