Coexistence of inversion 16 and the Philadelphia chromosome in patients with acute myelogenous leukemia

Leuk Lymphoma. 2002 May;43(5):1137-40. doi: 10.1080/10428190290021434.

Abstract

The coexistence of the Philadelphia chromosome and inversion 16 abnormality in de novo acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) has only rarely been reported. We report the case of a 23-year-old man with these cytogenetic abnormalities. He is in a durable remission following intensive chemotherapy. The literature on this subject is reviewed.
