Abstract
Multivesicular endosomes sort ubiquitinated membrane proteins for degradation by incorporating them into inwardly budding vesicles. The recent identification of two new oligomeric components of the sorting machinery gives us a detailed view of the complex protein-protein interactions driving this process.
