Leiomyosarcoma: a rare malignant change in a leiomyoma

Abstract

A case of leiomyosarcoma is presented. The malignancy is a rare complication of leiomyoma and had grown into a polypoidal mass prolapsing through the cervix. Diagnosis was made postoperatively on histopathological examination. After having an uneventful postoperative recovery and one course of chemotherapy, the patient was lost for follow-up.
