[Analysis on the ratio of the suspect SARS cases to the confirmed ones in a district of Beijing]

Abstract

Objective: To study the difference among the ratios of SARS suspect cases to the confirmed ones in a district of Beijing, the whole China and in Beijing, and to provide the suggestions for clinical diagnoses in SARS epidemic areas.

Methods: With descriptive study to analyze the trend and difference of the ratio of the suspect cases to the confirmed ones.

Results: The ratio of the suspect cases to the confirmed ones in the three regions mentioned above dropped over the time. There were apparent differences in the district, the whole China and in Beijing.

Conclusion: It is important to pay attention to improve the diagnosis capacity of SARS of the medical staff, and to increase awareness of the ratio of SARS suspect cases to the confirmed ones, to avoid missing SARS confirmed cases and wrong exclusion of the suspect ones.
