Pediatr Nurs. 1992 Nov-Dec;18(6):579-83, 590.

Using a retrospective cohort design with a randomly selected control group, this study investigated the relationship between selected maternal, infant, and environmental variables, and the development of nonorganic failure-to-thrive. The groups differed significantly on sex of infant and incidence of breastfeeding.
