The psychological journey of physicians

Abstract

There is a psychological journey that is taken by each physician as they enter the medical education realm, proceeding in to practice and continuing into retirement. It is imperative that clinicians understand the stages of their psychological journey in order to better understand their perceptions and behavior. This article was prepared from a commencement speech given to graduates of the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine.
