Low energy ion counting efficiency of a Johnston electron multiplier

Rev Sci Instrum. 1980 Mar;51(3):396. doi: 10.1063/1.1136195.

Abstract

We report a measurement of the absolute efficiency of a Johnston Laboratories MMl electron multiplier for detection of 2-4 keV Ne(+). The measured detection efficiency depends both on ion impact energy and on the magnitude and direction of an externally applied electric field near the first dynode.
