Abstract

Since 1987, 205 patients have undergone early surgical interventions for tuberculomas, and infiltrative and cavernous pulmonary tuberculosis. Comparative analysis of the group of patients treated by conservative and surgical methods in the agreed-upon terms (200 cases) revealed that the clinical efficacy of their management was equal. Nevertheless, the period of sick leave of those early operated appeared to be, on average, 91 days shorter than of those receiving conservative treatment. This in turn made it possible to achieve higher economic efficiency at 2873 roubles per early operated patient.
