Magnetic resonance imaging for evaluation of the fetus and the placenta

Am J Perinatol. 2008 Oct;25(9):591-9. doi: 10.1055/s-0028-1090597.

Abstract

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has become an important complementary imaging modality for evaluation of fetal and placental abnormalities over the past decade. MRI can function as a problem solver and help in patient counseling by confirming a suspected diagnosis, offering alternative diagnoses, and identifying additional abnormalities. This article addresses the use of MRI in the evaluation of the fetus and the placenta.
