A novel technique using a steerable guide catheter to successfully deliver an Amplatzer septal occluder to close an atrial septal defect

Catheter Cardiovasc Interv. 2008 Dec 1;72(7):994-7. doi: 10.1002/ccd.21743.

Abstract

Correct positioning of an Amplatzer ASD occluder can be difficult in vertical hearts or in those with diminutive or missing septal rims. In this report we describe the use of a steerable sheath to position the device in the plane of the ASD to achieve success.
