Objective: The findings of hypoxia in the term neonate are unique; neonatal brain imaging findings differ from those of older children. Evaluation of neonatal brain images for signs of hypoxic injury requires attention to a specific set of signs.
Conclusion: Imaging findings in term neonates must be assessed according to different rules from those used in other age groups. Four major signs are proposed as a means of facilitating the diagnosis of hypoxia in the neonate.
