Abstract

Objective: To investigate the expressions of HSP60, TLR4 and NF-kappaBp65 in the peripheral blood of patients with atopic dermatitis (AD) and their roles in the pathogenesis of AD.

Methods: RT-PCR, immunocytochemistry and ELISA were performed to measure the mRNA expressions of TLR4 and NF-kappaBp65 in the peripheral lymphocytes and monocytes, and the serum HSP60, respectively. A total of 17 patients with AD were recruited for the study, with 15 healthy people serving as controls.

Results: The levels of HSP60, TLR4 mRNA and NF-kappaBp65 were significantly higher in the peripheral blood of the patients with AD than in the controls (P<0.05).

Conclusion: HSP60, TLR4 and NF-kappaBp65 are overexpressed in the peripheral blood of patients with AD, which might be associated with the pathogenesis of AD.
