The purpose of therapy for diabetes mellitus is just a protection of chronic complications. Clinical approach to the control of glucose metabolism is in the central place, but the regulation of lipid metabolism contributes the protection of micro- and macroangiopathies. There are no specific characteristics in dyslipidemia of diabetes mellitus. Both hyperglycemia and hyperinsulinemia are closely related to metabolic derangement of lipid-lipoprotein metabolism In this section we will check the dyslipidemia and review the clinical studies and recommendation of therapeutic approach for hyperlipidemia of diabetes mellitus.
