Abstract
Objective:
To study the chemical constituents of the roots of Dendropanax chevalieri.
Methods:
The constituents were isolated by column chromatography with silica gel, Sephadex LH-20 gel and RP-18. Their structures were elucidated by analysis of spectral data and physicochemical properties.
Results:
Eight compounds were isolated and identified as palmitic acid (1), dibutylphthalate (2), beta-sitosterol (3), coniferaldehyde (4), scopoletin (5), beta-hydroxypropiovanillone (6), (+)-pinoresinol (7), (+)-syringaresinol (8).
Conclusion:
Compounds 1-2, 4-8 are obtained from this genus for the first time.
