The article presents the outcomes of the new disability assessment paradigm, which was running for three years and concerns patients with mental and behavioural disorders. This paradigm for assessing the state of health, decrease in the working capacity, and disability in patients with mental and behavioural disorders has been asserted since 2010. It is based on the findings of the project entitled, "Advances in medical science reflected in functional health state assessment and working incapacity in relation to International Classification of Diseases and International Classification of Functional Abilities", conducted by Czech Medical Association J. E. Purkyne. Consequently, the new paradigm proved its value and significance to the transition of medical assessment into personalised medicine.
