[The borderline personality disorder in primary care]

Abstract

Borderline personality disorder is increasingly common in today's society. There is approaching the problem of the borderline sick primary care nurse, to achieve and promote early detection of risk factors and promote interest in the prevention of complications associated with those already diagnosed. Through an extensive literature search, we go through the origin of the term until today, to finally establish the link with the primary care nursing, in a context of symbolic changes, with the addition of the new specialty of nursing family and community. Early intervention in patients is very important, the implication of the primary care team, an obligation. This article proposes an up-to-date knowledge of the object of study personality disorder, displays the profile of the patient, promotes the detection and early intervention and invites reflection and involvement of primary care.
