Orthopedics. 1984 May 1;7(5):874-6. doi: 10.3928/0147-7447-19840501-15.

Abstract

Shoulder pain with abduction is a common clinical sign associated with an impingement syndrome. This article describes a patient with an osteochondroma of the first rib that formed a pseudarthrosis with the clavicle, which limited its rotation, leading to pain with abduction of the shoulder. The available literature concerning this rare phenomenon is discussed, and the recommended treatment outlined.
