A method for obtaining large numbers of trophozoites of avirulent strains of Toxoplasma gondii using an antibody to interferon-gamma

J Parasitol. 1989 Feb;75(1):174-6.

Abstract

Injection of cysts of avirulent strains of T. gondii intraperitoneally into mice that were pretreated with monoclonal antibody against interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) provided more than 10(7) trophozoites of those strains. This method is suitable for obtaining large numbers of trophozoites of T. gondii strains that are avirulent for mice.
