Pediatr Emerg Care. 2015 Jul;31(7):514-6. doi: 10.1097/PEC.0000000000000342.

Abstract

Cervicofacial subcutaneous emphysema is uncommon in children and adolescents. When it occurs, it is often a result of trauma, surgery, or complication of pneumomediastinum. We report a case of an adolescent with isolated cervicofacial emphysema likely from an ulcer in his buccal mucosa.
