Remarks are made on various stroke topics-potential hazards in the early diagnosis of occlusion of the carotid, basilar, and middle cerebral arteries, dissection, discontinuing angicoagulants, lowering blood pressure, and delaying endarterectomy. The commentary also includes bolus versus continuous drip heparin, long-term warfarin therapy, extensive craniectomy for brain edema, the percentage narrowing of the carotid versus the residual diameter, stroke during anesthesia, the duration of a TIA, TIAs in congophilic angiopathy and the interpretation of transient spells of vertigo.
