Surgery for critical hand ischemia

Minerva Cardioangiol. 2016 Dec;64(6):672-5. Epub 2016 Jun 21.

Abstract

Hand revascularization is not commonly encountered, and thus many vascular surgeons are uncomfortable performing hand bypasses. The literature for hand bypasses is also scant, reflecting its incidence in most vascular surgical practices. However, the data and experience that we do have demonstrate that hand bypasses are effective in relieving symptoms, are not as difficult to perform as one might think, and has low morbidity.
