Magnetic resonance imaging of tendons in the foot and ankle

J Foot Surg. 1989 Jul-Aug;28(4):370-7.

Abstract

MRI promises to play an important role in the imaging evaluation of the diabetic foot. It offers superior contrast discrimination capability as compared to CT, and is capable of distinguishing among the various types of abnormal soft tissue encountered in the diabetic foot. It is also extremely sensitive to early progression of soft tissue infection to bone and joints.
