Portal hypertension due to arteriovenous fistula of the gastroduodenal artery

Abstract

The record is presented of a patient with severe recurrent bleeding due to portal hypertension. Surgical control of the feeding vessels of a fistulous communication between the gastroduodenal artery and its companion vein arrested the haemorrhage and controlled the portal hypertension.
