Abstract

The objective is to identify the effectiveness of Aloe vera on glycemic outcomes (fasting blood glucose level and glycosylated hemoglobin) in patients with diabetes mellitus. Specifically, the review question is: what is the effectiveness of oral A. vera (Aloe barbadensis) on glycemic outcomes in adult patients with pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes mellitus as compared to a placebo group?
