Antitest Revolt? On the Pros and Cons of Psychological Testing With regard to international student assessments, efforts of inclusion in society, as well as social and economic participation, this article deals with fundamental arguments against the use of psychological tests. Taking into account the antitest revolt of the 1960s to 1980s in the US and Europe the author ventilates Anne Anastasis classical paper Psychology, psychologists, and psychological testing of 1967. Anastasis point of view is illustrated by means of seven objections against psychological testing as a basis of selection decisions. It becomes clear that a critique of tests as a means of obtaining information has to be clearly distinguished from the ends - the purpose and objective of diagnostics - and the general framework.
Zusammenfassung Mit Bezug auf internationale Schulleistungsvergleiche, gesamtgesellschaftliche Inklusionsbemühungen sowie soziale und ökonomische Teilhabe setzt sich der vorliegende Artikel mit grundsätzlichen Argumenten gegen den Einsatz psychologischer Testverfahren auseinander. Anknüpfend an die Anti-Test-Bewegung der 1960er bis 1980er Jahre in den USA und Europa ventiliert der Autor den als klassisch zu bezeichnenden Beitrag Anne Anastasis Psychology, psychologists and psychological testing von 1967. Dabei wird Anastasis Argumentation anhand von sieben nach wie vor aktuellen Einwänden gegen eine psychologische Testdiagnostik als Grundlage von Selektionsentscheidungen dargestellt. Es wird deutlich, dass eine Kritik am Diagnostikum als Mittel der Informationsgewinnung vom Zweck – der diagnostischen Zielsetzung – und den entsprechenden Rahmenbedingungen unterschieden werden muss.
