[The place of the parents in hospital, constructing the partnership]

Abstract

Paediatric units have now opened their doors to parents, considering them as partners in care, providing essential support for their child. Better management of children's pain, as well as the mobilisation of family associations and professionals, have constituted important levers for enabling parents to be present with their hospitalised child. However, this positive evolution is recent and remains fragile. Actions encouraging the presence of parents in the hospital must be continued.
