Power properties of the likelihood ratio test in an analysis of genetic diseases

Biometrics. 1988 Dec;44(4):951-8.

Abstract

A likelihood ratio test concerning a genetic parameter describing in part the nature of a genetic disease is investigated. The test has the undesirable characteristic that its power curve is not a monotonically increasing function of the true value of the parameter being tested.
