Since its introduction in 1973, the penile prosthesis has provided a viable option for those with severe erectile dysfunction (ED). Designed to improve sexual function in individuals unresponsive to other treatments, various implantable devices have been developed. With an anticipated global increase in ED prevalence to over 322 million by 2025, demand for these implants is expected to grow. Factors contributing to this rise include an aging population and increasing rates of obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease, all of which can affect erectile function.
