Novel Technique for Percutaneous Reduction of Displaced LCII Pelvic Ring Injury: A Case Report

JBJS Case Connect. 2022 Mar 23;12(1). doi: 10.2106/JBJS.CC.22.00022.

Abstract

Case: We present a case report of an elderly patient with a displaced lateral compression type II pelvic ring injury and describe a novel technique for maintaining a percutaneously obtained reduction during percutaneous fixation using a supra-acetabular Schantz pin attached to a mechanical limb positioner.

Conclusion: The mechanical limb positioner used allows the surgeon to hold a multidirectionally obtained reduction of the hemipelvis with ease.
