Knee pain is among the most common complaints that an orthopedic surgeon may see in practice. It is often worked up with X-rays and MRI, leading to a myriad of potential diagnoses ranging from minimal edema patterns to various types of osteonecrosis. Similarities in certain causes can pose diagnostic challenges.
