Abstract

The syntheses of two benzyl-idenehydrazine derivatives, namely, (E)-N'-(4-chloro-3-nitro-benzyl-idene)acetohydrazide, C₉H₈ClN₃O₃, and (E)-2-(4-chloro-benzyl-idene)-1-(quinolin-8-yl)hydrazine, C₁₆H₁₂ClN₃, are reported. The mol-ecules have been characterized using IR, ¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR and mass spectro-scopic and elemental analysis techniques, and their structures have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
