JACC Case Rep. 2025 Feb 19;30(4):102955. doi: 10.1016/j.jaccas.2024.102955.

Abstract

Iatrogenic injury of coronary arteries is a rare complication for which the incidence has not been reported. This paper presents the case of a 42-year-old man whose preoperative cardiac evaluation revealed a chronic total occlusion in the left anterior descending artery caused by a remote insertion of an epicardial pacemaker lead.

Keywords: chronic total occlusion; intravascular ultrasound; optimal coherence tomography; pacemaker lead; percutaneous coronary intervention.
