Am J Emerg Med. 2025 Jun:92:253.e1-253.e2. doi: 10.1016/j.ajem.2025.04.014. Epub 2025 Apr 7.

Abstract

Electric nail clippers are widely used to trim nails. Injuries caused by their use are poorly characterized owing to the paucity of studies on the subject. We report herein three children seen at our institution between 2023 and 2024 who were injured while inappropriately using an electric nail clipper. The present report highlights the importance of using the device correctly and the need for parental supervision.
