Society benefits from healthy nurses. Prioritizing nurse well-being supports nurses' health, resilience, job satisfaction, and more. A healthy nurse provides quality care, reduces errors, and increases patient satisfaction. This article details the American Nurses Association's development of a definition of a healthy nurse to guide and articulate nurse health and wellness.
