Ecology: Genomic erosion of mountain grassland plants in greener pastures

Curr Biol. 2025 Jun 23;35(12):R623-R625. doi: 10.1016/j.cub.2025.05.007.

Abstract

Mountain grasslands are home to important plant species but are threatened by land-use and climate change. A new study integrates satellite and genomic data, revealing how increased vegetation productivity threatens diversity in a grassland herb. These findings provide insight into the role of remote sensing in conserving biodiversity.
