Int J Pediatr Otorhinolaryngol. 1985 Nov;10(2):159-63. doi: 10.1016/s0165-5876(85)80028-8.

Abstract

Infection with measles virus is a well-known cause of acquired hearing loss in children. Although measles virus vaccination on occasion may result in many of the complications seen with naturally occurring measles, the occurrence of hearing loss following measles virus vaccination has yet to be reported. This is a case report of encephalitis and severe sensorineural hearing loss following a measles virus vaccination.
