Background: Brucellosis is the most common zoonotic disease all over the world. so this study was carried out to Designing and Implementing the Intervention to Promote Brucellosis Prevention Behaviors in Ranchers and Their Family Members in the Rural Areas.
Materials and methods: The present study is a quasi-experimental that was implemented to among 140 ranchers and their family members in 2020Torbat Heydariyeh city in Iran. Two villages were randomly selected as the case group and 2 villages as the control group. A cluster sampling method was used. The data collection tool was a questionnaire. The educational intervention was performed for case group as lecture, group discussions, and question and answer in four 90-min sessions. The organizational intervention also was conducted for Intervention villages. Data were analyzed using statisti test and SPSS20.
Results: The mean age of the participants was 39.02 ± 16.41 years. Post-test was performed after six months using the same questionnaire for both groups. Data analysis based on paired t-tests revealed a significant difference between the mean scores of knowledge, attitude, and model constructs after educational and organizational interventions in the intervention groups.
Conclusions: The results showed that The behavior and habits of the people are not the only factors affecting the incidence of brucellosis. However, relevant departments and organizations can play a key role in controlling the disease these included training on the methods of disease transmission and prevention, identification of infected livestock, facilities offered by banks, sufficient use of volunteer health workers, and obtaining support from insurance organizations.
