New aromatic butenolides from the plant endophytic fungus Malbranchea umbrina D16
Abstract
Five aromatic butenolides including two new ones, malbranketons A and B (1 and 2), were obtained from the Euphorbia wallichii-derived endophytic fungus Malbranchea umbrina D16. Their structures including the absolute configuration were elucidated by NMR, HRMS, ECD, and X-Ray data. All compounds were examined for their cytotoxic activities against four tumour cell lines H1975, Panc-1, A549, and 22RV-1, but without effects (IC50 > 20 μM).
