Abstract

There has been a lack of experimental tools to visualise endogenous GLI proteins - the transcriptional effectors of the Hedgehog signalling pathway. In a new study, Allen and colleagues present a homozygous reporter mouse line in which each of the three GLI proteins are fused with a different epitope tag, allowing them to all be tracked simultaneously. To learn more about how this work developed and the researchers behind it, we spoke to first authors Hannah Schrader Dear and Nicole Franks as well as corresponding author Benjamin (Ben) Allen, Professor of Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of Michigan, USA.
