Role of Telehealth in an Obstetrician-Gynecologist's Workplace

Obstet Gynecol Clin North Am. 2025 Dec;52(4):711-721. doi: 10.1016/j.ogc.2025.07.008. Epub 2025 Aug 19.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of utilization of telehealth in medicine including the field of obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) has substantially increased patient access to care, overcoming financial and temporal barriers for many patients. This has resulted in wider access to more specialized care that is often concentrated in academic centers, as well as innovations in education and training of future health care providers. However, many barriers to broader adoption of telehealth into routine OB/GYN practice remain.
