Abstract

Malnutrition in elderly patients with malignant blood disorders is a major public health issue. Despite significant therapeutic advances in oncohematology, nutritional care remains inadequate, even though it affects treatment tolerance, quality of life, and prognosis. In older people, nutritional status is often already compromised by physiological, psychological, and social factors, compounded by the deleterious effects of cancer and its treatments. This review details the mechanisms of malnutrition in this context, its clinical consequences, assessment tools, and management strategies, based on current recommendations and the results of major clinical studies.
